Harbin, December 28, 2025 – The Snow Cup Football Tournament, a highlight of the 2025 Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) Ice & Snow Carnival, concluded successfully at the university's ice and snow sports venues. As a core event of the carnival, the tournament integrated football with ice and snow characteristics, attracting 32 student teams from various colleges and grades across the campus, which ignited a wave of youthful vitality and competitive passion on the field.
Adopting a competition format combining group stage round-robin matches and cross knockout rounds, the tournament featured a tight schedule and fierce competition. Against the backdrop of low temperatures, the participants showcased remarkable skills and seamless teamwork in passing, shooting and defending on the specially prepared snow football pitch. On the field, the players competed with high spirits, while teachers and students cheered enthusiastically off the field, creating a vibrant atmosphere that fully embodied the carnival theme of Joyful Ice & Snow, Vibrant Campus.
After a week of intense battles, the team from the School of Mechatronics Engineering claimed the championship with stable performance and excellent teamwork, advancing all the way to victory. The teams from the School of Civil Engineering and the School of Computer Science and Technology won the runner-up and third place respectively. Individual and team awards including the Golden Boot, Most Valuable Player, Best Goalkeeper, and the Fair Play Award were also presented to recognize the outstanding performers.
The successful holding of the Snow Cup Football Tournament has not only enriched the campus cultural life of HIT teachers and students and provided a platform for participating in ice and snow sports and physical exercise, but also promoted the popularization and development of campus ice and snow sports. It allowed teachers and students to experience the fun of sports in an ice and snow environment.It embodies the campus sports spirit and injects new vitality into the development of the school's ice and snow sports cause.
